Mary, Queen of Scots (8 December 1542 – 8 February 1587) was one of the most fascinating and controversial monarchs of the 16th century. She was six years old when her father died and she became Queen nine months later. She claimed the crown of four nations, Scotland, France, England and Ireland. She lived on Edinburgh castle.
She was married three times and her second marriage ended in murder and scandal, her third marriage was even worse and she was forced to give up the throne to her infant son, who was later known as king of England James I. She was cousin to the queen of England, Elisabeth I. For Queen Elisabeth, Mary’s presence was dangerous and the two queens never met. Mary was imprisoned for nineteen years and she was executed in 1587, only forty-four years old. All her possessions were burned and when Elisabeth I died, Mary’s son became king of England.

Good work.
