Our time in Stockbridge

Here is a clip from our conversation with a man from a grocerystore in Stockbridge. 

Lady from a nice and expensive cheese-store

A lady in a cheesestore did not give up her name. She has been living in Edinburgh for 14 years. She did not tell us why and when she moved to Scotland. She seemed quite reserved and she did not tell about her private life. The style mached the fine French cheese. It was the best cheese in Edinburgh, it was imported from France.

Both police officers works in the streets about 40 hours a week. They told us that the neighbourhood, Stockbridge, was a quiet and nice place to police in.  One of the police men worked at the school nearby, where he kept an eye on the children. One of the officers was from German and has been living in Scotland for 12 years. The other has been living in Scotland all his life. The first police officer has been living in Glasgow, too. That’s why he has such funny accent. The rest of his family lives in Aberdeen and he wants to move to Italy. The other one wants to move to the north Scotland. They both agree that the weather is horrible. However, they still love Edinburgh. 

Schoolgirls from Stockbridge

After talking to the two funny police officers, we met two schoolgirls. They were wearing uniforms as can be seen on the picture. The uniform was discreet but nice. They party in the weekends like we do in Denmark. They really like living in Scotland like all the people we have been talking to. What they really liked was the public transport in Edingburgh. They have many busses and great opportunities to get around the city. They go to school at 8.30 am and goes home at 15.30 pm. They are not thinking about moving away from Stockbridge, they want to continue their education in the city. They like their school and the nightlife. We also asked them about their thoughts on kilts. They like them and think they are very fashionable unlike we do.  

The apartments in Stockbridge were expensive and good looking. Here is an example of a very modern apartment. Stockbridge used to be outside Edinburgh but now it is a part of the city. That is why many of the apartments are new and fashionable.
